Fifteen kilometres of fine sandy beach and shallow waters. Five hundred kilometres of flat traffic-free cycle paths.
A Caribbean-themed water park, an indoor zoo, interactive museums, and an inflatable park open in the evening.
Then there is Jesolo Pineta: an area where you can escape the bustle of Via Bafile and be surrounded by pine trees, just 200 metres from the sea.
This is where Hotel Picobello Pineta is located.
This guide brings together useful information for organising a holiday in Jesolo with children: where to go to the beach, what to do during the day and in the evening, where to go when it rains, where to stay and what to eat. Updated for the 2026 season.
Family-friendly beaches in Jesolo
The sea in Jesolo is safe for children, with fine golden sand and shallow water that extend several metres from the shore. Two awards confirm this: the Blue Flag, held since 2004 for water quality and beach facilities, and the Paediatricians’ Green Flag, awarded since 2008 to child-friendly beaches, including Jesolo and Jesolo Pineta. Children can splash about safely, build sandcastles, and run in and out of the water for hours, while parents can relax with a book in the shade or take an unhurried swim.
The coast is organised in two ways: most of it is run by private beach clubs, while public beaches are free to access. It’s also divided into three main areas, each with its own atmosphere.
The beach clubs provide well-spaced parasols, sun loungers, lifeguards, showers, toilets, children’s play areas, bars and restaurants. Some also offer organised activities, beach volleyball or inflatable play areas. Prices vary depending on the area and the time of year.
The central area, around Via Bafile and Piazza Mazzini, is the liveliest.
Jesolo Pineta, to the east, where Hotel Picobello Pineta is located, has tree-lined streets, fewer crowds and a quieter beach
Cortellazzo, at the far eastern end towards the mouth of the Piave, is the wildest area, with sand dunes, pine forests and long stretches of public beach, which can also be reached by bike along the cycle paths.
Other public beaches, free to access and equipped with showers and lifeguard service, are mainly found here and at Spiaggia del Faro, at the mouth of the River Sile.
Just 200 metres from Hotel Picobello Pineta is Pineta Beach, a beach club on the Alessandro Del Piero promenade. This is the hotel’s partner beach: one parasol and two sun loungers can be booked directly at reception for an additional €15 per day. It is only a few minutes’ walk away, even with a pushchair.
At the end of the day, you walk back to the hotel, no car, no tired children fighting over seatbelts
Things to do in Jesolo with children during the day: parks and attractions

Caribe Bay and Tropicarium Park are Jesolo’s main attractions for families with children.
Caribe Bay is Italy’s most award-winning themed water park. It recreates a Caribbean island, complete with white sand, palm trees, lagoons and pirate villages. Its 25 attractions are divided into three areas by thrill level: Adrenaline, for those looking for steep slides and speed; Adventure, for fun the whole family can enjoy; and Kids, also known as Pirates’ Bay, where younger children can explore twelve gentler attractions, from smaller slides to shallow pools. Every day, the park’s arena hosts live shows with international artists. For families with babies, there is also a baby care room with changing tables, nursing chairs, bottle warmers and child-sized toilets.
The 2026 season runs from 30 May to 13 September, with the park open daily from 10am to 6pm. Caribe Bay is located at Via Buonarroti 15 and can be reached from the hotel by car, bus or bike. Tickets, daily prices and current promotions are available on the official Caribe Bay website.
Tropicarium Park is Jesolo’s zoo, located in Piazza Brescia inside the Palazzo del Turismo. It is entirely indoors, a good alternative to the beach on windy or rainy days. The route is divided into three sections: Tropicarium, Aquarium and Predators. Here, families can see crocodiles, sharks, Magellanic penguins, turtles, iguanas, snakes, free-flying butterflies and fish from all over the world. For children, it is the kind of visit they will remember for days: sharks just inches away behind glass, Magellanic penguins waddling awkwardly on the rocks before darting underwater, and animals they may only have seen before in books or cartoons. In summer, Tropicarium Park is open daily from 10am to 7pm, with last admission at 6pm. Children under 4 go free, and there is a reduced rate for children aged 4 to 14. A single ticket also includes entry to the Fabbrica della Scienza, located directly opposite.
Museums and indoor activities, perfect for windy or rainy days

When the weather changes, or when children feel like doing something different, Jesolo’s museums add depth to a family holiday.
La Fabbrica della Scienza, in Piazza Brescia: is an interactive exhibition spread over two floors, divided into six themed areas:physics, electromagnetism, optical illusions, forces of nature, space and virtual reality.A seventh space hosts the season’s new installations, including an Einstein avatar that answers visitors’ questions, an LED wall where children’s drawings come to life, and an interactive science quiz.
Visitors can step into a booth and experience the 120 km/h winds of a tornado, feel a simulated earthquake, watch a volcano erupt and try virtual reality with headsets. The visit lasts around an hour and a half and is suitable for all ages. Children under 3 enter free of charge. In summer, it is open daily from 10am to 7pm, with last admission at 6pm.
JMuseo is Jesolo’s civic museum. It reopened in July 2023 in a triangular building with a large skylight flooding the interior with natural light
The museum occupies four floors hosting contemporary and modern art and temporary exhibitions, plus a top-floor terrace with views of the sea and the Venetian lagoon.
The programme changes from season to season, alternating between exhibitions suitable for children and others aimed at adult audiences.
It is worth checking what is on before you go.
The Vidotto Military History Museum, at Via Roma Destra 131 in the Jesolo Paese area, just a few minutes’ drive from the beach, is spread over three floors, with themed rooms dedicated to Italian and foreign armed forces. Visitors can see uniforms, period documents and historical artefacts.
Its armoury is one of the most comprehensive in Italy, with firearms used by armies over the last 150 years
Outside in the garden you’ll find tanks and a helicopter, and children are allowed to climb inside some of the vehicles, something very few museums permit.
In summer, from mid-May to mid-September, the museum is open every day in the morning and afternoon. Tickets cost €12 for adults and €10 for children aged 5 to 13, while children under 5 go free.
A family ticket for 2 adults and 2 children costs €40.
Things to do in Jesolo in the evening with children

On holiday, children often go to bed later than usual. After dinner in Jesolo, the evening keeps going: inflatable play areas stay open until midnight, and a giant Ferris wheel lights up Piazza Brescia as it turns.
Gommapiuma is Jesolo’s largest inflatable play park, designed for children up to 12 years old. It has giant inflatables shaped like castles, whales, dragons and cartoon characters, as well as slides, trampolines, a ball pit with 25,000 coloured balls and water walking balls floating in a tank.
There are three locations: Piazza Trieste, with 4,000 m² of space; Piazza Europa in Jesolo Pineta, with 3,000 m² and within walking distance of Hotel Picobello Pineta; and Via dei Mille. Only children pay. Adults go in free and can wait at the central gazebo, which has a bar, while the children play until they’re worn out.
Gommapiuma is open every evening from 8pm until midnight, with unlimited play time on a single ticket.
The Wheel of Venice, Jesolo’s Ferris wheel in Piazza Brescia, is 60 metres high and has 42 enclosed, air-conditioned cabins. From up there, in the evening, you can see Jesolo’s 15 kilometres of illuminated coastline, the lights of the promenades and, on clear evenings the silhouette of Venice in the distance . It is open every day from 5pm until midnight, and each ride lasts about ten minutes. The cabins can accommodate up to eight people, and even the youngest children are welcome.
Cycling with children: easy cycle paths

Jesolo has 500 kilometres of completely flat, well-signposted traffic-free cycle paths. The first ride is along the Alessandro Del Piero promenade, part of the Lungomare delle Stelle: a cycle and footpath that runs between the pine forest and the beach, ideal for children’s first bike rides.
Families with slightly older children can reach destinations further afield:
Cortellazzo towards the mouth of the Piave, Eraclea Mare 12 km away through the countryside, Caorle 25 km along the coast, and Punta Sabbioni, where you can catch the vaporetto to Venice.
A day cycling to one of these places, with a picnic by the seaand a long ride back in the late afternoon, is the kind of day children remember.
At Hotel Picobello Pineta, city bikes are free for guests, always available and with no time restrictions.
Just ask for the keys at reception, a ride to the sea before breakfast, a spin through the pine trees after dinner, a whole morning’s ride to Cortellazzo or Eraclea. For those who want to go further afield, e-bikes are available for a fee. And for those arriving with their own bikes, including child seats and children’s bikes, there is secure covered bike storage where you can leave them, free of charge.
Where to eat in Jesolo with children

Jesolo is full of restaurants. Along Via Bafile alone, Europe’s longest pedestrianised street, there are hundreds of places to eat: seafood restaurants, pizzerias, ice-cream shops and bars, one after another.
Venetian cooking is rooted in local ingredients: polenta, Adriatic fish, risi e bisi, pasta e fasoi, sarde in saor, radicchio rosso di Treviso, frittura mista, and desserts like tiramisù and fritòle.
For families with children, many restaurants offer indoor or outdoor play areas, children’s menus, baby changing facilities in the toilets and, in some cases, small playgrounds with inflatables or pirate ships play structures in the garden.
Pizzerias are plentiful, including some with certified gluten-free menus.
Ice-cream shops stay open late every evening.
If you’d rather not think about where to eat every day, Hotel Picobello Pineta offers breakfast and dinner at Restaurant Poesia, with an American bar open all day.
Breakfast is served from 7.30am to 10am:a generous buffet, sweet and savoury, where children will find bread and jam alongside cold meats and eggs.
Dinner is Venetian and Italian, with seasonal ingredients. It opens with a fresh vegetable buffet, which helps when children are fussy eaters: you can put together a plate to suit different tastes. An à la carte menu of Adriatic fish and meat dishes follows.
The American bar by the pool is open all day, with its own entrance from the street.
It serves light lunches until 2.30pm, pasta dishes, mains, large salads and cold platters, followed by ice cream in the afternoon and pre-dinner drinks.
It’s especially useful for guests by the pool who’d rather not get changed and head to the restaurant.
