Discover Veneto from Jesolo

Hotel Picobello Pineta città Treviso

Day trips to Venice, Treviso, the Dolomites, Venetian villas and historic towns

Choosing Jesolo as the starting point for discovering Veneto means enjoying a holiday that extends far beyond the beach. This stretch of coast is often associated purely with seaside holidays, yet its geographical position reveals something far more interesting: from Jesolo, you can easily reach the Dolomites, Treviso and Venice in under two hours by car.

You could spend one day in the mountains, another exploring an historic city, whilst another might take you along the cultural route along the Riviera del Brenta.
Each day naturally takes a different direction, without rushing and without changing hotels. In the evening, however, the return is always the same: the quiet of the pine forest, the scent of the trees and the sea just a short walk away.
Hotel Picobello Pineta sits right here, with easy access to the main routes.

Venice from Jesolo: a different way to visit the city

Visiting Venice from Jesolo allows you to organise the day with greater flexibility: you can leave when you like, reach the city by water or by car, and plan your return according to your own schedule, knowing you’ll return to the peaceful setting of Jesolo Pineta. The most practical option is to drive to Punta Sabbioni, about 15 to 20 minutes from the Pineta. Here you will find secure car parks such as Park Terminal, where ACTV boats depart for Venice on lines 14 and 15. The journey to St Mark’s Square takes around 30 minutes and brings you into St Mark’s Basin with a beautiful approach passing the island of Sant’Elena and the Biennale Gardens.

Once in the city, beyond the classic route between St Mark’s Square and the Rialto Bridge, the Dorsoduro district is well worth exploring, visiting the Gallerie dell’Accademia and walking along the Zattere overlooking the Giudecca Canal. For lunch, Bacaro Risorto in Campo San Provolo serves fresh, flavourful cicchetti, perfect for a relaxed and informal break. In the evening, the boat journey back to Punta Sabbioni, as the light slowly fades behind the Giudecca, gently eases you back to Jesolo Pineta where the pine forest and the sea restore a quieter rhythm to the day.

Treviso: the elegance of the Marca Trevigiana, between painted canals and a culture of good food

Treviso is often called “Little Venice” for its canals, yet the city has a more intimate character and a quieter, more elegant pace. It’s an ideal destination for a day of art and good food.
The city is easy to reach: heading towards Porta San Tomaso, you’ll find parking easily at Park Nord, right alongside the sixteenth-century city walls.
From here you can explore the historic centre on foot, beginning with the Canale dei Buranelli, where the water reflects the medieval buildings in perfectly framed views.
For art and history, the Civic Museums of Santa Caterina are well worth visiting – they’re home to the fresco cycle of the Stories of Saint Ursula by Tomaso da Modena.

Afterwards, Piazza dei Signori offers a natural change of pace with its lively and convivial atmosphere.
For an authentic aperitif, Osteria dai Naneti in Vicolo dei Dalla Neve is a Treviso institution where cured meats are sliced fresh to order at the busy counter.

And if you’re ready for something sweet, there’s another reason to linger: tiramisu in the city where it was born. The world’s most famous Italian dessert was born here, with its soft mascarpone and rich coffee flavours, the perfect end to your visit.

The elegance you find in Treviso continues back at the hotel, as you stroll along Viale Oriente beneath the pine trees

Taking a day trip to the Dolomites from a seaside base always feels unexpected.

From Jesolo, take the A27 motorway to Ponte nelle Alpi, then the SS51 Alemagna. In just over two hours and 15 minutes you’ll climb from sea level to the sweeping landscapes of the Ampezzo Dolomites, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The drive unfolds through changing scenery — valleys, forests and pale rock faces rising on the horizon.

Cortina d’Ampezzo makes a natural base for the day.

After a coffee in Corso Italia, you could walk around Lake Misurina, visit the Tre Cime di Lavaredo, or take the Lagazuoi cable car for views across the Tofane and the Ampezzo valley. The Dolomites offer more than views: fresh mountain air even on hot summer days, well-marked trails, alpine huts serving traditional mountain food, and a clarity of light that brings every detail into focus. An early start gives you the full day for exploring, with time to return by late afternoon. The shift from cool mountain air back to the salty breeze of Jesolo makes for a refreshing return. With free parking at Hotel Picobello Pineta, you can leave early and return whenever suits you.

Following the Brenta River reveals the historic connection between Venice and the mainland. The Venetian Villas are central to the region’s architectural heritage.

From Jesolo Pineta, you can reach the Brenta Riviera in about one hour by car, roughly sixty kilometres, taking the SP42 towards Mestre and continuing to Stra along the SS11.

Villa Pisani in Stra, known as the ‘Queen of the Venetian Villas‘, is one of the most impressive monumental complexes in the Veneto region. Built in the eighteenth century as the summer residence of the powerful Pisani family, it now houses the National Museum with over a hundred frescoed rooms, including the famous ballroom with its ceiling painted by Gianbattista Tiepolo.

The monumental park, one of the largest in Europe, is home to Italy’s most celebrated hedge mazes, which captivated visitors including Gabriele d’Annunzio.
Napoleon Bonaparte also stayed here during the Italian campaigns, reinforcing its status as one of Europe’s grandest residences.

In Mira, Villa FoscariLa Malcontenta‘ stands in classical proportions on the banks of the Brenta River, its imposing façade echoing an ancient temple above the water. Palladio designed this masterpiece for the Foscari family.

Also in Mira, Villa Widmann Rezzonico Foscari shows a more intimate side of the Riviera with eighteenth-century interiors, luminous frescoes and an elegance that recalls the era of Venetian country life.

In Stra, Villa Foscarini Rossi offers something unexpected: the Footwear Museum, which tells the story of one of the most important manufacturing districts in the Veneto region, displaying iconic designs from famous fashion houses and the craftsmanship behind this tradition.End your visit at one of the trattorias along the Brenta where you’ll find seasonal risottos, baccalà mantecato and traditional river dishes.
In this part of Veneto, architecture, art and craftsmanship meet an authentic culinary tradition, making the itinerary particularly rich and rewarding.
